Welcome to First Serve Coaching Coaching area. Here you will find everything you need to know about the coaching sessions at the venues we currently work with all run by David Rowley (Director of Tennis).

 

Juniors group sessions

First Serve Coaching runs term-time coaching courses for juniors promoting the LTA accredited Mini Rally Awards programme.

These currently take place at:

Legends Sports Club (Crewe) - Saturday mornings from 9.30am)

Bunbury Tennis Club (Cheshire) - Saturday morning from 11.15am

You can join the course at any time during the programme. Enrolment forms can be downloaded from the download page.

We also run Half-Term holiday camps and after school clubs. Current entry forms arei on download page.

 

Adults group sessions

First Serve Coaching run adult group coaching classes throughout the year. These range from beginner courses (Tennis Xpress) to, Improver Doubles Builder groups, Cardio tennis and soon to be introduced Disability tennis courses, all courses are open to Non Members of the respective clubs so everyone is welcome. Private Sessions

If group sessions are not enough or if you wish to develop yours skills on a more personal one to one basis then private coaching from Head Coach David Rowley may be for you? Cardio Tennis is a system designed to bring a high level cardiovascular workout into the world of tennis, incorporating the game you know and love with games and activities that keep you moving, burning calories and improving your footwork and hand/eye coordination.  Playing tennis is a workout in itself, but Cardio Tennis takes it to another level by:

  • Getting your heart rate to levels optimal for achieving a solid cardiovascular workout and keeping it there for the duration of the session
  • Ensuring you’ll receive the maximum benefits of the session through heart rate monitoring
  • Leveling the playing field through the use of transition balls, making it easier for players of all ability levels (including Juniors) to play together
  • Enhancing the workout experience with high energy fitness music

 

 

Cardio Tennis is a high energy fitness activity that combines the best features of the sport of tennis with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full body, calorie burning aerobic workout. It is a very social and fun class for players of all ability levels taught by a tennis teaching professional.

If you’ve never played tennis before it is a great way to be introduced to the sport and if you are an experienced high level tennis player it is the best way to train for tennis. Most classes have mixed ability and some facilities offer classes which are more specific to ability/fitness level.

However, regardless of ability or fitness level the tennis professional is trained to provide the ultimate workout for each person.

**TRANSITION BALLS ARE CATEGORIZED AS RED, ORANGE OR GREEN BALLS WITH LOWER COMPRESSIONS MAKING THE BALL SLOWER, EASIER TO HIT AND ADDING MORE CARDIO TO THE  EXPERIENCE.
